When Leawood homeowners made the decision to remodel their recently purchased home, they chose to work with Jason Cornish and Chelsea Witmer with Reliance Construction Group. “The home owners requested our help in updating the kitchen, living area, laundry room, powder room, and masterbath,” stated Chelsea Witmer, Operations Manager for Reliance. “The owners had purchased the home with clear ideas on the areas they wanted to update. While this helps to make our job a little easier, matching existing cabinets can sometimes be a challenge,” says Witmer of the renovation project.
The kitchen island and perimeter features Calacatta Vicenza Quartz giving the realistic look of fine marble in easy care and maintenance free quartz. This elegant white quartz with its subtle gray veins is ideal for a variety of designs from traditional to modern.
This 16-year-old kitchen was ready for an update. The original cabinets were reconfigured with an island and upright cabinet built to match existing cabinetry.
The finished kitchen is light and bright. The addition of the island and custom cabinet add additional storage space while the island also provides additional seating for guests.
In the laundry area, an existing cabinet gets an update with a Giallo Verona granite top. The color mix of cool whites are softly blended with pewter and accented with sienna and umber in Giallo Verona granite, and is generally imported from Brazil.
The powder room gets an update with Magnificent Silver granite which has what looks like patches of tans and browns that allow it to stay neutral to most any kitchen or bath design. What makes it pop is the patches of silver that shine out and give it the accent. With a custom sink this powder room reflects the personality of the owners.
Blue Nile granite, shown here in the updated master bathroom, is a newer stone to market and is rich with visual interest. Already popular in design, this stone incorporates shades of white to black but overall has a light appearance. This stone also contains a high quantity of taupe colored quartz deposits making it very attractive to those looking for “greige” materials.
